The city honors its 1,500-year history through art and monuments along the Malecón. Each year, Mazatlán commemorates the Naval Combat of Mazatlán (1864), when Mexican forces successfully defended the port against foreign warships during the French Intervention—an event celebrated today with state-of-the-art fireworks and drone shows over the bay.
Mazatlán is also the birthplace of the world-famous Pacífico beer, first brewed here in 1900.
